Rising from the plains just north of downtown Sacramento, the North Natomas community is the result of a far-reaching vision, based upon planning and implementation. Residents, environmentalists, planners, developers, business owners and a host of other people and organizations conceived the North Natomas Community Plan as the blueprint for this area through decades of collaboration. The result is one of the most "livable communities" in the region and a community that serves as a model for the rest of the nation.

The award-winning North Natomas Transportation Management Association is one piece of this overall plan and your personal transportation option concierge. The Community Plan charges the TMA with providing commute trip reduction and air quality improvement support to all residents and businesses in North Natomas. Work, shopping, packing the kids around, even doctor visits. We understand busy lives and have figured out ways to make getting to, through and from North Natomas easier. Like its community, the TMA is unique in several ways:

  • The NNTMA is the first active TMA in the United States that is truly community based - the membership consists of commercial, business and residential entities.

  • The NNTMA was formed in advance of the development of the North Natomas community. As such, it is a down-to-business force in the implementation of alternate transportation usage.

  • The TMA Board consists of representatives from residential, commercial, and office interests. The TMA provides advocacy on transportation and air quality issues. Serves the North Natomas area with one-stop transportation alternative information and will develop programming responsive to the community's needs.

  • As a transportation information broker, we provide assistance for commuters desiring to car- or vanpool, ride public transit, use a bicycle, walk or link trips with many commute modes.

  • We are a proud partner of many clean air related award-winning programs, including Walk-to-School, the Regional Rideshare Partnership and WalkSacramento.

  • The Flyer is our own community transit shuttle providing commuters to downtown Sacramento service, as well as week-day on-demand service within our community.

  • The City of Sacramento implemented a community-financing district (CFD) to provide reliable long-term funding for the TMA, with area-wide participation in the CFD.
