2009 Bicycle and Bicycle Accessory
Rebate
The North Natomas Bike & Bicycle Accessory Rebate program
was designed to get people out of their cars, onto their bikes
and improving air quality! This year’s program opened
February 1st with $7,500 in available funding.
The TMA has designated $6,000 for adult bicycles and bicycle
accessories. For the first time, $1,500 has also been allotted
for children’s bicycles. All funding is available
on a first-come first-served basis with the receipt of each
qualified application. A committee of Board, staff and community
members review all applications as they arrive. There is normally
a two week response time after the application is received
before the potential recipient is notified of the outcome.
Each applicant may apply for 40% of the cost of a new bicycle
up to a maximum of $250. Approved accessories are eligible
for 40% of cost up to $50. Children’s bicycles must be
quoted with an approved helmet and lock. They are eligible
for a 40% rebate up to a maximum of $100.
The program will come to a close on April 30th or earlier
if the funding has been spent. All applications must
be post marked by this date.
