Rideshare Safety

  • Meet your prospective partner in a public place before agreeing to travel together. Discuss driving safety.

  • Confirm your prospective partner's phone number by calling it. You might want to check the phone number in the phone book or online. Record your travel partner's driver's license or other photo ID information when you first meet them; ask for three personal references, and call them; exchange photographs.

  • Exchange emergency contact numbers before traveling, and exchange any important medical information.
  • Please keep in mind that there are crazies out there and never travel with someone you don't trust.

  • If you are the driver, you may want to check with your insurance agent to see if you have enough coverage for your passengers.  If you are a passenger, ask the driver to do this.
