Heron School (Elementary and Middle)
Walking and biking reduces traffic around school,
promotes learning and good health, and helps the environment.
Join us on Footloose Fridays. Encourage your to walk
or bike to school every Friday. Can’t walk your
child to school? Meet up with the walking school bus
at 7:40 AM under the shaded picnic structure at Burberry
Park (2400 Burberry Way) where students will walk together
as a group to school; adult volunteers will be present.
Make sure your child stops by our table on campus to
get their Footloose Fridays card punched. They will
accumulate an assortment of different colored charms
on a necklace or keychain because that’s the
cool thing to do.
Project Ride Smart – Heron
students were privileged to part take in a new course
called Project Ride Smart. Cycling instructors taught
this course which was a part of the 4th and 5th graders’ physical
education. Children learned skills including bike control,
safety, awareness, rules of the road, and much more.
This valuable information will benefit these children
for many years to come.
