Westlake Charter
Walking and biking reduces traffic around school,
promotes learning and good health, and helps the environment.
Join us on Walking Wednesdays. Encourage your kids
to walk or bike to school every Wednesday. Can’t
walk your child to school? Meet up with the walking
school bus in front of the AIM Mail Center in the Walgreens
Shopping Plaza (El Centro Rd. and Del Paso Rd.) at
8:00 AM where students will walk together as a group
to school; adult volunteers will be present. Make sure
your child stops by our table on campus to get their
Walking Wednesdays card punched. They will accumulate
an assortment of different colored charms on a necklace
or keychain because that’s the cool thing to
do.
Interested in becoming a volunteer for Walking
Wednesdays? It’s a great way to earn parent hours.
Project Ride Smart – Westlake students were privileged
to part take in a new course called Project Ride Smart.
Cycling instructors taught this course which was a
part of the 5th graders’ physical education.
Children learned skills including bike control, safety,
awareness, rules of the road, and much more. This valuable
information will benefit these children for many years
to come.
