Why choose public transit?
Relax with your friends and neighbors or relax with your iPod. Catch up on the daily news or catch up on your work. Wonder if that cute guy or gal who gets on at the stop after yours is single; wonder if you’ll ever get the nerve to say hello and find out. Take a nap or take a look at all the stressed out drivers on the road below you. All this extra time is available to you when you are riding public transit instead of driving alone to work. Just be sure you aren’t so relaxed that you forget to get off at your stop.
The Flyer is our own community transit with services within North Natomas and three downtown commuter routes. Ride with your neighbors on shuttles that seat 20 to 28 riders. This personal, friendly service is a very economical choice.
Regional Transit provides service all over the Sacramento region, with three bus routes serving North Natomas. Route 11 is a great option to get downtown where you can link with Light Rail or buses to take you almost anywhere you need to go.
Other transit choices include:
- Amtrak, which runs the Capitol Corridor route along I-80 from Auburn to Oakland. Catch the train at the downtown train depot.
- Greyhound, the largest provider of inter-city bus service in North America provides a safe and affordable trip to many destinations
- Yolobus, also with a downtown connection point, provides service to the Sacramento International Airport as well as Davis, Woodland, and other Yolo County destinations.
