Vanpool Policy

The NNTMA will subsidize each start-up vanpool for $1800.  This amount will be paid over a six month period at $300 per month.  Examples of other subsidies include the Sacramento Area Council of Government’s current $300 per month per van for six months, any state or federal employee subsidies or incentives, private/public employer incentives or participating vanpool vendor incentives.

Vans are leased through an established commuter vehicle rental company.  Any applicable SACOG or NNTMA subsidy will be paid directly to the van rental company.  The vanpool participants are then required to pay the remaining lease charges.  The NNTMA reserves the right, on a case-by-case basis, to offer additional incentives.

The NNTMA subsidy functions only to reduce participants’ net monthly payments for van rental charges.  Vanpool participants are responsible for any costs associated with parking, fuel, extra mileage fees, and any other costs.
