Neighborhood
Rides 2011
Join us on our neighborhood rides! This will be a great time to be outside in the sun enjoying a nice bike ride and great company. Always bring water, a helmet, and an extra bike tube. No need to RSVP – just show up! Meet at the NNTMA office, 1960 Del Paso Road, and the group will depart at 8:30 a.m.
Check out our dates and adventures:
May 14 – Around the Airport – 22 miles
The Sacramento River, pretty Garden Highway views, agricultural land, jets and airport expansions – this ride has it all. We’ll provide the treats when we stop at the Elkhorn Park & Boat Launch mid-way.
May 19 – Bike Day
The TMA will host a bicycle breakfast stop; 6-9 a.m. at the west entrance of Power Balance Pavilion & Truxel Rd. Ride by as you commute to work or if you’re just out for leisure. Join the group of riders who’ll leave this location at 8:30 a.m. for the Capitol Bikefest downtown. It’s fun to visit the bike booths, eat popsicles and meet new bike buddies.
June 11 – Ride to Black Bear Restaurant – 16 miles
We haven’t yet been to Black Bear Restaurant and we want you to come too! Bring your kids & some $$ – only kids 12 and older please.
September 9-11, 2011 – Emigrant Trails Bike Trek
Join our team, the Natomas Flyers, in a fun-filled weekend full of challenge and relaxation. This bike ride is in support of a great cause of clean air, healthy lungs, and a tobacco free future! We will connect in Petaluma for a weekend of cycling, camping, and fun. This is not a race; cycle at your own pace. Full on-road support, catered meals, snacks and entertainment are all provided. www.sacbreathe.org
September 17 – West Sacramento - 27 miles
Roll through downtown West Sac, around the commercial corridor, over the Deep Water Channel, and nab a table at Nugget Market for goodies in Southport - hosted by the TMA. On the way back, we’ll take in ski boats, the newly finished Riverfront Promenade and cruise by the Crocker Art Museum as we head for home.
October 15 – No/So Natomas to Old Sac – 20 miles
Let’s enjoy the many bike trails North and South Natomas have to offer, cruising over the newly opened I-80 bike/ped bridge and land in Old Sac at Steamers for breakfast. Bring a bit of cash for some grub.
