May is Bike Month 2013
The NNTMA is a proud supporter and partner of May is Bike Month, a regional campaign to promote and reward cyclists throughout the Sacramento region. Our local businesses, residents, students and teachers contributed 74,270 miles to the regional challenge in 2012. Let’s log more miles in 2013!
May is Bike Month in North Natomas Schools - Students and teachers are encouraged to participate in May is Bike Month at their school by completing weekly sheets tracking their bike trips. Weekly prizes are given to all participants along with gift certificates in weekly drawings.
FREE Bike Clinic - Brush up on your cycling skills at a FREE Bike Clinic on May 21st from 6-7:30pm at the North Natomas Library. This free clinic will review how to choose the right gear, basic cycling skills, the rules of the road, and safety strategies.
Bike Doc is all around town - Visit the Bike Doc at one of the following events to get your bike ride-ready.
• Thursday, May 2nd 2-6pm—H. Allen Hight Elementary
• Monday, May 6th 4-7pm—Terracina Meadows Apartments
• Saturday, May 11th 10am-1pm – Natomas Park Clubhouse
• Thursday, May 16th 5-7pm – Westlake Villas
• Thursday, May 23rd 3:30-6:30pm—North Natomas Library
Fish & Farm Neighborhood Ride - Join your friendly North Natomas neighbors a pleasant 20-mile morning bike ride to Sterling Caviar & Feeding Crane Farms. Ride starts at the NNTMA Offices – 1960 Del Paso Road at 8:30am on Saturday, May 11th.
Bike to Work Day Breakfast - Fuel up at a bicycle breakfast stop from 6-9 a.m. to celebrate Bike to Work Day on May 16th at the East Entrance of Sleep Train Arena & Truxel Road. Stop by as you commute to work or even if you’re just out for a leisurely ride.
Represent North Natomas at regional May is Bike Month events - Bicyclists from all over the Sacramento region will come together to celebrate their passion for bicycles.
• May is Bike Month Kickoff – 5/1 Freemont Park 11:30am-1pm
• BikeFest – 5/9 State Capitol (West side) 11am-1pm
North Natomas employees and residents are encouraged to register online at www.mayisbikemonth.com and track their bicycle miles throughout the month of May.

Mark your calendar with these fun neighborhood rides.
Join us for sunshine, biking, and great company. Unless noted otherwise, rides depart from the North Natomas TMA office at 1960 Del Paso Road at 8:30am. Always bring water, a helmet, and an extra bike tube. No need to RSVP – just show up!

Attention Natomas Park Elementary 4th - 6th grade students
A new and improved way to walk to school! We are using bar code scanning technology to log students' bicycling, walking and skating to and from school. Walking Wednesdays Trip Scanner can send parents a text, phone call, or email notifying them that their child arrived at school. Students earn "Boot Bucks" and can track their miles, calories spent, money saved and carbon reduction.
